Credentialled Diabetes Educator

Margaret is a Registered Nurse and Credentialed Diabetes Educator (RN/CDE).

She has been nursing since 1973 and is very passionate about helping people to manage their health. She has a wide range of experience in acute and in community settings including Aboriginal Health.

Having a Bachelor of Nursing, Masters in Clinical Nursing and a certificate of Management and Education in Diabetes. In 2017 she became a Diabetes Educator and then progressed to be a Credentialed Diabetes Educator June 2021.

She has worked as a Diabetes Educator at Tennant Creek NT and Moree NSW where she has gained experience in Gestational Diabetes (diabetes in pregnancy), Type 1, Type 2, Type 2 on insulin, and was involved with renal clients who had diabetes in both Tennant Creek and Moree.

Commencing in August 2021 at Bundaberg Health Promotions working as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator for a wonderful program called SugarRight for clients with complex type 2 diabetes who have been referred by their doctor. Within this program she will be doing diabetes education, basic foot assessments, education on best practice of blood sugar testing and administration of insulin.
