Dr Trevor Akister relocated to Australia from the UK in October 2021 and joined the clinic team in December. He first studied biomedical science at the university of Durham, before practicing as a biomedical scientist in clinical chemistry.
In 2011 he retrained as a doctor studying at the university of Birmingham, and completed specialty GP training in 2019. He has worked as the lead for the west Midlands special allocation scheme, helping patients with complex behavioural and mental health needs.
Dr Trevor is a Medicinal Cannabis prescriber. Medicinal Cannabis is used to treat varying medical alignments including, but not limited to -Anxiety/depression/autism/chronic pain/cancer related pain/Post traumatic stress disorder/Rheumatoid arthritis. This service is available to existing and external patients by referral. Dr Trevor’s other areas of interest include elderly care, including long term chronic disease and acute/emergency care.
